BLASTX is a patented and innovative product from MTi Group. BLASTX is a semi-rigid blasthole stemming device that is filled to high pressure with fluid during operation. BLASTX makes stemming overhead and horizontal blast holes significantly easier, providing better confinement and withstanding higher loads than any other product on the market.

BLASTX is a stemming and retention product for use in both up-holes and down-holes. In its simplest form, the plug requires >6 bar water supply for expansion. (Other solutions are available for low pressure)

By simply connecting utilities to the inflation equipment, a hose is then run to the BLASTX, terminating in the proprietary breakaway BLASTX Coupling. A standard dropline may be utilised for down-holes, or through the use of adaptors, a standard ANFO hose may be used for up-holes.

Once ready for use, the coupling is connected to the BLASTX plug. The plug is raised/lowered to the required height, where a ball valve can initiate expansion, injecting fluid into the BLASTX plug. This is done until the vent hose releases fluid, indicating BLASTX reached the max pressure, then just pull the hose to release the coupling. The operator may pull away the expansion line and retrieve the coupling and hose.
